Allows for monthly or bi weekly tournaments with enticing prize money. This gives em a much larger potential audience and in turn big sponsorships. Otherwise, I think Combat Robotics would do much better if they follow the Twitch/Esports route. I think for Discovery to be successful, they need to take notes from other succesful reality shows like Rupaul's who do this so well and really cultivate a massive, loyal fanbase.
The episodes are filled to the brim with filler which leads people to just record or watch online later via some random YouTuber. They leave it to the teams to promote themselves. The YouTube channel uploads infrequently. You can't even stream the show in Canada and I'm sure it's even worst in most other parts of the world. It's a good product but I don't think Discovery is the one to take it to the next level and here's why: I'd like to see Discovery really invest in the product but I just don't think it'll happen unfortunately.
